"The HTBI book is a treatise on steps to legally protect your privacy that will make it very difficult, time consuming and expensive for another person, organization, or entity to track and/or find you."

Skip College: Go Into Business For Yourself

Order the book or Download a preview

This up-to-the-minute e-book contains far more information than the
title indicates:

1.  A college diploma is not what it used to be

2.  Formal vs. street-smart education

3.  What money can--and cannot--do

4.  How to start out on a shoestring--or less

5.  How to find or create your own niche

6.  Those vital first three seconds

7.  How to do business like a pro

8.  Follow the rule of "Occam's razor"

9.  The need for solitude

10.  Choose a star to steer by

11.  Fall down seven times, get up eight

12.  Postscript
A year from now you may wish you had started today. --Karen Lamb

Appendix A.  Recommended reading
The author's favorites: From Business and Border Crossings to
      Inspiration, Writing, and Self Defense.

Appendix B.  An open letter to parents who plan to send their children to college
Including letters from lawyers than may shock both you and  your children.

Appendix C.  How to fly beneath the radar
How to maintain a low profile and avoid some of the problems that
may otherwise appear without warning. (This may prove to be the
most important information in the entire book!)

Appendix D.  "Time Out or Burn Out for the Next Generation"
In the UK, taking a year off is called a "gap year." British universities
(and parents) not only accept that students take a gap year, it's
      practically expected.

A note about testimonials

Although I receive favorable comments about “SKIP COLLEGE” on a regular basis (most commonly: "It changed my life!"), I normally do not post them. This is because the e-mails are signed with a first name only, and no address. (If I posted these without a last name and a city and state, they would lack credibility.)

However, when the e-mail shown below recently arrived, I asked the sender to please send me his full name, age, city and state, and allow me to use his unsolicited testimonial. He graciously agreed, so here it is, just as he wrote it. It made my day.

“All my life I’ve watched my parents struggle to survive.  Especially my mother who pretty much raised my brother and I all by herself.  What I learned during that time is that my parents lived their lives out of the fear of what might happen if things don't work out.  Because of that fear they greatly limited their abilities to do so much more.

“Ever since a very young age I’ve felt that there’s so much more to accomplishing success in life than being afraid of failure. “
Skip College” confirmed that because everything that you did throughout your life, was not done out of fear. It was done out of aspiration. The way you always talked about God, the way you always looked to achieve new and innovative ideas, the way you give of yourself.  No man could do so much because of fear. Jesus had the same traits, but he was perfect. I suppose that the reason your book changed my life is because you are not Jesus and yet you were able to accomplish so much despite all odds.

“Your life was no fairy tale but you made of it what your heart desired. You went after that next idea and most importantly you decided to be a blessing to others.  As I was reading the e-book I didn't sense fear at all and that was what pierced my heart.  As a man I now realize that I have no excuse to hold off on my dreams any longer.

“I am in the process of starting the company of my dreams and whether I fail or not, when I'm on my death bed, I can at least say that I gave it the best shot I could.”

                                                        Lorenzo Dixon, 24                                                            Tampa, Florida

(Folks, you can’t make this stuff up. If reading SKIP COLLEGE changes your life, would you be so kind as to let me know? I’d truly appreciate it!)

Recent Questions Related To Skip College

My gal pals and I have just finished reading the excellent "Skip College..." e-book and find it particularly relevant to today's economy. We've been hearing many stories on the radio about small business people who took out loans (or borrowed on their credit cards!) to start their businesses, and are now stuck deep in debt with seemingly no way to dig out. Becuase they did not organize and fund their businesses with an eye to privacy principles and potential financial consequences of small business ownership, many of people and their families are on the hook personally for their business debts. Not that we feel that anyone should shirk their debts, but, there are many perfectly legal strategies for individuals to insulate themselves from business debts. The first principle, as Mr. Luna espouses, is not to go into debt to start your business in the first place! Anyway, Mr. Luna, we are wondering if you would be willing to share with us some of your thoughts on the current economic situation, and how those of us who are coming late to the principles you teach in "Skip College..." might re-position ourselves - mid career so to speak - to put those ideas in place.    Read JJ Luna's Answer Here

"Thank you for posting the wonderful reminder from the Skip College book. We recently moved into a rental as part of our plan to focus on building our accounting/bookkeeping business. It is an absolute delight to lay down at night and be completely debt free. Thank you for timely your encouragement!"  Read JJ Luna's Answer Here
